With more than seventy years of history, it remains a benchmark of Catalan gastronomy. Sisters Paquita and Lolita Reixach brought it to prominence and have successfully overseen a generational handover. The menu is extensive and appealing, with dishes cooked as they always have been, using seasonal ingredients. Dishes such as chickpeas with pork belly, cod with garlic mousseline, lobster with potatoes or fresh peas are simply outstanding. The wine list is magnificent and the staff welcoming. The dining room is minimalist and glass-fronted, with linen-draped tables and views over the garden. The secret lies in great products, good cooking and a genuine desire to keep tradition alive.
