Six generations of the Cristóbal family bring this historic restaurant near Aranda de Duero to life. There’s no menu here—you come to enjoy the roast suckling lamb from the Churra breed, served with a simple salad of lettuce, tomato and onion. To start, Burgos black pudding; to finish, a mille-feuille pastry that provides the perfect ending. The extensive wine cellar, rich in local labels at reasonable prices, pairs beautifully with the food. Taking pride of place in one of the dining rooms, the wood-fired oven draws every eye. It’s common to see local winemakers and locals dining here, so booking is recommended. Well worth the detour.
