With a simple, tavern-style décor, this spacious venue combining a bar and restaurant is an icon in Santander. Diners of both zones can sit at the tables, whether to share some excellent platters or order from the à la carte menu. The house speciality is stewed dishes, with a particular focus on cocido lebaniego (typical stew of Liébana) and cocido montañés (the hearty mountain version). Both are excellent choices. If you just want a snack, the platter of local cheeses or the cold cuts are the best options. Booking is essential as it’s usually packed. One of the best-priced venues in the city with guaranteed quality. An authentic place.
