Founded in 1926, this tavern near the cathedral is one of the oldest in Murcia. Ideal for lovers of authenticity, it offers a 100% Murcian experience that preserves all its essence and reasonable prices. The interior retains vintage photos and traditional wine barrels, giving it a timeless charm. Must-tries include the dry sausage with almonds, caballitos (deep-fried prawns), marineras (a base of crunchy bread, potato salad and anchovy), Murcian salad, caldo con pelota (soup with meatball), zarangollo (scrambled eggs with onions and courgette) and zagalicos (finger sandwiches). Although they don’t take reservations and it’s always packed, the service is quick. A legendary spot for tapas that’s not to be missed.
