The first Asador de Aranda opened in 1983 in Plaza de Castilla. They now have restaurants in half of Spain. The wood oven-roasted baby lamb is their speciality and one of the most famous in the country. Their menu of Castilian cuisine also includes roasted suckling pig, another of the house specialities, stuffed peppers, pan-cooked chorizo sausage, rice-based black pudding, scrambled eggs with sweetmeats, and offal. Simple dishes, yet wonderful and very well-prepared ingredients. Typical, classic Castilian décor and large rooms. Inviting atmosphere and friendly service. A classic among classics.
