Since 1884, this establishment opposite the port of Beluso has been a tavern, grocer’s, sailors’ refuge and, ultimately, a temple to the finest seafood. The bar, with its decorative ship, leads to a stone dining room with picture windows framing views of what will soon arrive at the table. Everything comes straight from the estuary, unadorned: stews, rice dishes such as the unmissable one with cod cheeks and scallops, and above all the legendary baskets of boiled seafood, the house’s hallmark since the 1980s. A story not told but savoured. Four generations on, it still smells of freshly cooked spider crab.
