A favourite among locals, Batiz Casa Roble has a large terrace under a noble oak and an unassuming yet warm indoor dining room, and is located in a country house from 1700 in the middle of the Enkarterri countryside. The chef, Argentinian by birth with Basque and Italian roots, offers a variety of starters such as creole chorizo, Zalla onion rings and empanadas, but the favourites are the rice dishes. The menu features five varieties, including rice with quail and mushrooms and rice with lobster, as well as black fideuá noodles with baby cuttlefish that’s to die for. Friendly, attentive service. Well-chosen, local and Argentinian wine list.
