On the outskirts of Muxika, this large 19th-century farmhouse retains all the charm of traditional Basque country homes. The restaurant features several dining rooms suited to every kind of occasion, along with a pleasant covered terrace for the warmer months. In the kitchen, Iratxe focuses on a traditional repertoire built around seasonal ingredients. The wine cellar, home to more than 2,000 references, is the jewel in the crown. It is well worth a visit, and seek the advice of Jon Andoni, the restaurant’s renowned sommelier. The service is old-school. A sure-fire success.
