Located in a less touristy part of El Puerto de Santa María, this restaurant, run by the Gago family since 1965, is well known amongst the locals. Its home-style cuisine – simple yet skilfully prepared – features fried dishes as one of its main attractions, including marinated anchovies, red mullet, mantis shrimp and estuary prawns. Other highlights include the potato salad, marinated tuna and the traditional damselfish from El Puerto. To finish, the imperial cake usually steals the show. It has a terrace, an indoor dining room and a bar that’s perfect for a quick bite. A local classic where you can enjoy the area’s most traditional flavours.
