A legendary bodega in La Barceloneta that's managed to preserve its essence through the years. An authentic family restaurant, austere and crowded but with plenty of soul. Eight communal tables, built-in kitchen. No fancy linen here: orders are shouted rather than noted, and the wine comes in flasks. They serve excellent small dishes at pre-war prices. Quality and spot-on puchero (stewed chickpeas and meat). The neighbourhood bomba (meatball with potato, aioli and spicy sauce) is outstanding. They only do lunch and close early. No bookings, but it's a definite must.
