In an old corner of Sanlúcar's Barrio Bajo neighbourhood, where the scent of sherry lingers in the air and regulars order hazelnuts with their glass, stands a legendary tavern, unpretentious, yet full of soul. Bullfighting posters, a wooden bar and large glasses of manzanilla en rama sherry. Homemade pork scratchings, marinated baby octopus, tuna with onions, marinated dishes, seafood salad and much more. All lovingly prepared without haste and best enjoyed with a generous local wine. It’s the kind of place you enter out of curiosity and leave in love with. An old-school atmosphere that’s hard to come by nowadays. It hasn’t changed in decades and it doesn’t need to.
