Two young chefs of Dominican origin present an original and unconventional Japanese tavern. The menu combines Japanese technique, globetrotting cuisine and warm nods to their roots. Alongside nigiri and sashimi, highlights include the iconic crispy shiso bite with stracciatella burrata and truffle honey, the red prawn nigiri in two temperatures and the surprising katsu-sando, a masterful fusion of Dominican smoked pork chop and Japanese tonkatsu sauce. The wine list is well-curated. The venue has a few tables, a bar overlooking the kitchen and a private dining room. You’ll find yourself wanting to return before you’ve even left.
