A restored Basque farmhouse 23 km from Bilbao, with views of Urkiola Natural Park and surrounded by green spaces. Very cosy, rustic style with wooden beams and terracotta floor tiles. The lovely terrace is surrounded by hundred-year-old oak trees. Serves traditional cuisine with innovative touches made from local, seasonal produce. À la carte and three tasting menus, one of them vegetarian, that change with the season. The way how they treat vegetables, how they play with foie and how they prepare fish is outstanding. Look out for the wine list, there are good labels and some excellent pairing options. Good, friendly and attentive service. Warmth and quality.
