This restaurant with more than a century of tradition is steeped in authentic charm. The walls with their painted tiles, murals and mosaics, the vaulted ceilings and the small bistro-style tables help to make Iruña a benchmark in the city. There are two separate areas: the fabulous pintxos bar, where the hustle and bustle never stops, and the dining room, with a set lunch menu at midday and an à la carte menu in the evenings. Good no-frills Basque cooking. Enjoy your meal with a bottle of "agua de Bilbao". The wait staff is efficient, but a bit glum, perhaps. A classic in Bilbao.
