This is one of Getxo’s most emblematic taverns and, although it opens all year round, it is especially popular during the long summer nights. Its sought-after terrace can be enjoyed from first thing in the morning for a coffee through to dinner, when queues often form. The kitchen focuses on tapas, with green peppers, chorizo, croquettes, baby squid and other sharing portions. It does not take reservations, so it is worth going with time to spare. Having a drink on the steps while waiting for a table is part of the ritual. It is an essential stop and one of the locals’ favourite summer plans.
