This small temple to Japanese tempura offers an authentic experience at a counter with just ten seats. Kenji Ueno (of Can Kenji) focuses on tempura through two tasting menus, a shorter one at lunchtime and a more extensive version in the evening. The journey begins with sushi and continues with less usual tempura such as sole, lotus flower or red mullet, although the selection changes according to the market. The lightness of the batter and the precision of the frying reveal impeccable technique. On the downside, the wine list — particularly the reds — is somewhat limited. An interesting place that steps off the beaten track.
