The little sister of Enrique Valentí’s Caja de Cerillas brings back the spirit of the traditional neighbourhood bar. A bar counter, an informal dining room, paper-covered tables and egg boxes on the ceiling set the scene for updated traditional cooking, always based on good-quality ingredients. The menu revolves around its “broken” dishes, combining eggs, potatoes and different ingredients, alongside excellent preserves and cured meats. Among the classics, the roast beef tenderloin with béarnaise sauce never fails. There are no reservations, preserving the spontaneous, everyday feel that is part of its charm. The bar of old, cleverly brought back to life.
