A classic, or rather the classic! Open since 1670, this is the oldest tavern in Seville and it has preserved the centuries-old essence of those bygone days. In the bar area, they write orders in chalk on the mahogany counter, like they did in the past. The à la carte menu celebrates Andalusian and Sevillian cuisine, with dishes like croquettes, spinach with chickpeas and different types of omelettes. Whatever else you order, be sure to try the pavías de bacalao (strips of cod in batter). A large bar counter, a bar area with barrels, a private room and a small dining room on the ground floor, plus a more formal restaurant on the top floors. The décor transports you back in time, giving you a flavour of the past.
