This Japanese izakaya may go almost unnoticed due to its understated décor, but the real focus here is on the food. The offering blends Japanese cuisine with Mediterranean touches at very reasonable prices. The sushi is well executed, featuring cuts of toro, eel, amberjack and even turbot — a rarity — alongside risotto-style onigiri, a range of tataki, chicken karaage or salmon teriyaki. Both kitchen and front of house are run entirely by a Japanese team, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the experience. The space is small, so booking is advisable. Cheap and cheerful.
