A century-old tavern located near the central Sol station serving Castilian cuisine. A place with plenty of character where the bar is the focal point. There is also a terrace with high tables and a small dining room. Tapas, meat and its signature cod dishes: with mushrooms and Bilbao or ajoarriero style. though the croquettes are also famous. It can get a bit chaotic when it’s full, but that is the essence of the place. Reasonable prices and generous portions. Perfect for a glass of vino on a Sunday. Interesting fact: Pablo Iglesias founded the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party here in 1879.
